Run, Zaika, run...

Thank God, it has finally been decided to audit inventory in Heavens and stop wasting snow on Spanish roads. Besides it’s against all possible rules to hold winter season in the Northern hemisphere in such a way. I wonder what kind of punishment all the guilty carried, but hardly had I written about the lack of snow in Sweden, when nearly all the Europeans were immediately sorry about driving without winter tires. And as only those who do nothing, never make mistakes, those guys from Heavens overdid it; as a result there wasn’t enough snow for everyone, and snow guns were used in Sweden till the last moment of the competitions in order to hold them in a proper way. At the same time in Belgium one could easily hold snow-tractor competitions instead of regular football tour.

The first biathlon round of the new season started in Swedish Ostersund. I got to know about biathlon (i.e. skiing combined with shooting) before I learned anything about bobsleigh. Moreover, Russians have far more old traditions in this kind of sport. Largely speaking, if you aren’t a member of Greenpeace and a total pacifist, if you have seen a rifle at least once in your life and you’re rarely thrown out of the ambush with recoil when you shoot, then you’ll easily pass for biathlon athlete while skiing and chasing a hare at the same time.
